BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL

(NORTH ROAD, RALPH ALLEN DRIVE, AND THE AVENUE, WIDCOMBE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2010

Notice is hereby given that the Bath and North East Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close temporarily to vehicles and to introduce temporarily No Waiting Restrictions on the roads and lengths of roads as specified below. The work will be carried out in three phases:

Phase 1:

North Road, for a distance of approx 20m either side of its junction with The Avenue and Ralph Allen Drive.

The Avenue, from its junction with North Road for a distance of approx 20m.

Ralph Allen Drive, from its junction with North Road for a distance of approx 20m.

Phase 2:

North Road, from its junction with Ralph Allen Drive to a point approx 100m west of its junction with Combe Road.

Phase 3:

North Road, from its junction with Ralph Allen Drive to its junction with Shaft Road.

Please note parking will not be permitted in these roads while works are being carried out.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road consequent upon carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing and will be operative from the 9^th August 2010 for a maximum period of six months. However, the restriction may not be effected for the whole of the period but it is anticipated that the road will be closed as and when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works which it is anticipated will be for FIVE DAYS.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE –

Phase 1: Diversion a: North Road (unaffected part), Bradford Road, Frome Road, A367 (Wellsway, Wells Road), A36 (Lower Bristol Road, Rossiter Road, Claverton Street), A3062 (Prior Park Road, Ralph Allen Drive (unaffected part)).

Diversion b:  Ralph Allen Drive (unaffected part), Prior Park Road, A36 (Claverton Street, Rossiter Road, Pulteney Road), Bathwick Hill, Claverton Down Road.

Phase 2: North Road (unaffected part), Bradford Road, Frome Raod, A367 (Wellsway, Wells Road), A36 (Lower Bristol Road, Rossiter Road, Claverton Street), A3062 (Prior Park Road, Ralph Allen Drive.

Phase 3: Ralph Allen Drive, Prior Park Road, A36 (Claverton Street, Rossiter Road, Pulteney Road), Bathwick Hill, Claverton Down Road.
